A $100,000 dollar grant was awarded to D-DENT in December 2018 to help provide required lab work, dentures, and other dental materials needed to reduce the organization’s patient waiting list for services. D-DENT is a non-profit organization that partners with dentists who volunteer their services in Oklahoma communities of all sizes to help provide free dental care to low-income and disabled Oklahomans, including veterans. Dentures and proper dental care impact more than just the health of an individual. Providing dentistry to those in need improves quality of life by making simple things like eating, speaking, and smiling pain-free and healthy!
D-DENT has provided free dental care to low income uninsured veterans since 2010. Because no veteran should go without oral health care, on June 7th and 8th 2019, D-DENT held a FREE Community Dental Day to help veterans on D-DENT’s waiting list. Clients on the wait list currently wait between two and five years to receive services, depending on their specific needs and the volunteer service providers available in there area. Thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Masonic Charity Foundation, 24 patients were helped and nearly $23,000 worth of dentistry was performed free of charge to the patient!
The Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma is proud to support organizations like D-DENT whose missions help improve quality of life for Oklahomans from all walks of life.
