Hydro and Western Star Lodges Raise over $40,000.00 at Benefit Dinner and Auction to Honor Fallen Firefighter

Hydro Lodge No. 230 and Western Star Lodge No. 138 jointly sponsored a fundraiser in Honor of Hydro Fire Chief Noland Schmidt who lost his life last March fighting a fire at the Hydro Coop Elevator.

The fundraiser consisted of a dinner of ribs, calf fries, cole slaw, baked beans, cobbler and ice cream.  It was held at the Hydro-Eakley School Cafeteria in Hydro.  The auction included the following items:           Mickey Mantle Autographed Baseball; 2008 Hustler Fastrack Lawn Mower; Dozier Rental and Dirt Work Services; Set of four new tires; Golf Passes & Equipment; Electric Smoker; New Cub Cadet weed eater; gift basket; (2) 26' LCD TV's with DVD Player; Hand Made Wood Bench; Gas Grill; Oil Changes for 1 year; OU & OSU merchandise; Wild Hog Hunt; Collectible Coins; Handmade Afghans, Fire Hydrant; Memorabilia; CVA .45 caliber Blackpowder Rifle and many other items...a Brother even agreed to have his head shaved for a donation of $2,500!

The Fundraiser brought in a total of more than $40,000.00.  These funds along with Matching Funds will used to purchase a much needed  new Fire Truck for the Hydro Fire Department.
