Payne Education Center

Another scholarship program which may have an even more profound effect on the future is in conjunction with the Payne Education Foundation. The Payne Foundation is a 501- ( c ) - 3 organization which operates the Payne Education Center. The Center teaches public school reading teachers techniques for helping dyslexic children learn to read. Scientists now know that dyslexia is a birth condition. But teaching techniques discovered at the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Dallas, are highly successful in letting these children learn to read effectively and easily. We provide teaching materials to public school teachers who are taking the training at the Payne Center. Those teachers will help thousands of children learn to read. It’s one of the most important things we do.

The Foundation has supported projects such as:

Reading Readiness Kits to develop the skills in children they will need prior to the reading process.

Discovery Spelling to provide teachers with the tools to help students learn to spell.

Corporate Spelling Bee to raise funds for training teachers to teach the special reading techniques.
