For the 2019 calendar year, a grant of $20,000 was given to Junior Achievement of Oklahoma. The grant is to fund financial literacy programs for students with an emphasis on reaching rural communities in 2019. It will help Junior Achievement of Oklahoma’s programs reach kindergarten – 12th grade rural students to teach them the difference between needs and wants, importance of budgeting, how to prepare for a financially sound future, work readiness, and more! Last year, they served 11,387 rural students. The support received from MCFOK will help Junior Achievement of Oklahoma cover cost for nearly 700 rural Oklahoma school students.
