O.E.T.A. Spring Festival “Masons Night” Telethon

The Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma presented the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (O.E.T.A.) a check in the amount of $49,385.50. During the televised event, the Grand Master, Randall Rogers, commented that funds had been collected through local Oklahoma Masonic Lodges during the annual drive and matched by the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma. Masons manned the telephones during the annual OETA Telethon held on March 17, 2012.

The Masonic Fraternity presented $750,063.61 to the eleven Oklahoma Area Agencies on Aging (O4A) at the group’s annual meeting in December. The funds will assist needy senior citizens across Oklahoma.

The funds will be used as an endowment to establish the Masonic Institute for Student Engagement and Transformative Learning at RSU. The institute will support annual programs that involve students in the community through both classroom studies and outside activities. The objectives are to advance students’ community involvement, cultural awareness, service learning and student research.

Sulphur Masons and Fire Department Fundraiser Generates Beneficial Results for Community

The Sulphur Fire Department and the Sulphur Firefighters Association were assisted by the Sulphur Masonic Lodge #144 in raising $5,000 by holding the 13^th annual chili supper. The $5,000 that was raised enabled the purchase and distribution of 100 smoke alarms; certified over 50 local residents in CPR/AED; taught fire prevention to all elementary age students in the Sulphur Public School District, Inca Oklahoma School for Deaf, and Chickasaw Headstart. All this community service was done at no charge to the public because of the fundraiser.

Pryor Creek Masons Assist Fire Pup Program

Representatives of Pryor Creek Masonic Lodge No. 100 presented a $220 check to the Pryor Fire Department to help purchase materials to teach local students about fire safety and burn prevention through their “Fire Pup Program”. The Masons make this an Annual Event and have been supporting this program locally for more than 14 years. The Fire Department deeply appreciates the Lodge sponsorship of this program.

Courtesy Shuttles Presented to the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center

Recently, three new Courtesy Shuttles ($10,000 each) were presented to the Veterans of the Oklahoma City Veterans Administration Medical Center from the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma. Several members of the Masonic Charity Foundation Board of Directors were on hand to witness this donation to the Veterans Hospital.

Wellston Masons Assist Local Students’ Colonial Journey

The Wellston Lodge sponsored a pancake breakfast to assist in raising proceeds to benefit the Wellston Colonial Kids Booster Club. The fifth and sixth graders are earning their way to Virginia and will be touring Historical Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown Victory Center in June 2012. Weatherford Masons Raise Scholarship Money for Young Bowlers

A bowling tournament, co-hosted by Western Star Lodge No. 138, raised money for the Weatherford Youth Grand Prix Scholarship Fund for those young bowlers who will be attending trade schools or colleges in the future. Western Star Lodge No. 138 is actively involved in supporting the community of Weatherford in many other ways also, such as the Boy Scouts, National Guard Gold Program and the Youth Grand Prix Scholarship Fund.

Idabel Masonic Lodge Assists in Medical Needs With Fundraiser

Toys for Tots – Altus Lodge

Altus Lodge gave a donation of $5,980 to the Salvation Army for the purchase of toys for needy children in the area. Pictured giving and receiving the donation (from left to right) are: Mary Stager, David Stager (responsible for toy purchasing), Lt. Joe Price, Lt. Betty Price (Salvation Army commanders), Roger Meyer, 2011 Worshipful Master Altus Lodge and his wife Kaye Meyer. Approximately 70 people were present for family night dinner and toy distribution.
